Heritage Farm Hosting Volunteer Training
Heritage Farm Museum and Village
will host volunteer training from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 18, for
those wanting to assist in bringing the Farm to life for the Spring Festival on
May 2.
All new volunteers should attend
training at the Farm, located at 3300 Harvey Road, Huntington.
And, with less than three
weeks to go, Heritage Farm wants to remind folks about the new Way Back Weekend
season pass. For one low price, visitors and their families can attend all
seven Way Back Weekends, including a music festival, ice cream social and the
popular cast-iron cookoff.
Season passes are $30 per person and
$75 per family and can be purchased at the welcome center at Heritage Farm
(3300 Harvey Road, Huntington); online
at heritagefarmmuseum.com; or the Cabell-Huntington Convention and Visitors
Bureau (210 11th St,
Huntington).
Those purchasing season passes prior to Spring Festival will
be able to skip the admission lines and get straight on the shuttle buses to
the Farm. Also, groups of 15 or more who
wish to attend the
Spring Festival can pre-purchase discounted tickets at the Farm office for $15
per adult and $5 per child (ages 2-12).
Spring
Festival only tickets will be available on the day of the event for $20 per
adult and $10 per child (ages 2-12).

Founded
in 1996, the Farm's collection includes more than 25,000 square feet of
historically significant Appalachian artifacts in seven award-winning museums
and was recently named West Virginia's first Smithsonian Affiliate Institution.
The Farm is also home to more than 30 log structures and other reconstructed
buildings, artisans, and re-enactors that bring Appalachian history to life.

media: On Tuesday, April 21, and Friday, April 24, school groups will be
visiting Heritage Farm from 9 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Several folks, including Audy
Perry, will be available from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. for interviews to assist
you in your preview coverage of the May 2 Spring Festival. Feel free to cover

The Wild Ramp - "Stink Fest"
The Wild Ramp is pleased to announce the market's first ramp festival, Stink Fest, will take place at its Old Central City location on Saturday April 18th from 10 am - 4 pm.
Stink Fest will feature different ramp dishes from a variety of food vendors including Wedge, Butter It Up, Down Home Salads, and more. While you enjoy live musical acts, games, and samples, you may catch wind of a special appearance by the Stink Fest mascot, Stinky.
Raffle tickets for a ramp themed basket will be sold at the market beginning April 4th, with the winner being announced at the conclusion of the festival.
There is no cost to enter the festival, everyone is welcome to embrace the essence of the Appalachian hills, and join us as we celebrate the stink!
