The
WVU Extension Service, Putnam County Master Gardeners and Putnam County Parks
and Recreation will host a Putnam Summer Gardening Series beginning July 7th. The
classes will be held on Thursday evenings from 7 PM to 8:30 PM at the Community
Gardens located at the Wave Pool Park (#1 Valley Park Dr., Hurricane). The classes are open to the public and free
of charge. The title of the classes are:
1) Soils and Soil Fertility (7/7),
2) Growing Culinary and Medicinal Herbs (7/14),
3) Annual and Perennial Flower Gardens (7/21),
4) Pest and Pest Management: an IPM Primer (7/28), and
5) Preserving/Canning Your Harvests (8/11).
